The Sir Francis Drake Pub and Restaurant on the ground floor has a cozy atmosphere. Its name comes from the famous sea captain, a hero to the English and the dreaded “El Draque”, the dragon, to the Spaniards, who he massacred for sport and of course for booty.
It has seating for 90 guests and a genuine thematic atmosphere. It makes you feel as if you were on one of the ships of the famous privateer, such as the Pelican, which he used to become the second person after Magellan to circumnavigate the globe.
However, our bar is more impressive and our restaurant is larger and of course cleaner than on Captain Drake’s ships, not to mention the quality of the food!
Our guests can choose from specialties of both international and Hungarian cuisine, whether you are in the mood for fish, meat or wild game. You will find the cream of the crop from Hungarian wine regions on our wine list, with examples from the nearby hills of Pannonhalma to those from Lake Balaton, Villány, Szekszárd, Tokaj and even the slopes of the Transylvanian hills.
A lunch break spent on our garden terrace provides real refreshment from the hustle and bustle of the workaday week. In addition to the a'la carte dishes, you can choose from two set menu options every weekday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
From spring to autumn, friendly service, the shade of centuries-old trees, the chirping of birds and a view that never gets old of the banks of the Rába and the Bishop’s Palace makes a family lunch, business dinner or friendly get-together for beer a joy on the terrace.
To further improve the atmosphere, we offer evenings of live music every Friday for your entertainment.
